Sergey Svistunov

Sergey Svistunov has over 20 years of experience in governmental, social, media and public relations. He started his career as a correspondent with one of the world largest news agencies ITAR-TASS, and then worked in the Kremlin Presidential Office. He witnessed and participated in the early stages of the formation of the renewed Russian state leadership and it’s Press-service. Later, he moved to Russian National Security Council where he provided consultancy on specified social and political issues including analysis and prognosis.

Over the last few years, Sergey decided to broaden his experience into a larger spectrum of business and corporate communications. Being the head of the Public Relations department of Itera International Group of companies he moved into a field of a new developing Russian private oil, gas and chemicals industry and business. Before joining The Willard Group – Burson-Marsteller, Sergey worked as Client Service Director in Moscow based Stepanov & Partners PR agency where he provided a large spectrum of media and public services for the company clients, starting with elaborating and implementing external and internal communications development strategies up to organizing special PR, GR, media, advertising events. In the Willard Group he leads for the Agency’s most important clients and projects.

Sergey graduated with Honors degrees in Journalism and Law from Moscow State University of International Relations and Russian Academy of Public Service. Besides Russian he is fluent in French and English.
